One would think that bingo is one of the least risky forms of gambling – not so in Cheshire, England, where an 84-year-old lady was eaten by a pig on her way home from a successful bingo night.

Muriel Hattersley was a grandmother of 11. Reports say she could have still been alive when eaten by the pig, although most likely unconscious.

She liked to walk home from the local bingo club on the outskirts of Crewe, Cheshire, despite her children’s worries. On the fatal night she just won £30 and was walking home happily when a pig that escaped from a local farm attacked her.

"Nobody likes to hear that their mum has been eaten by a pig - let alone eaten alive by a pig. It's horrible." – commented her daughter, Janet Wilson.
